York Ceramics Fair

Really looking forward to this weekend there are some fabulous makers joining me at York Racecourse on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th. The CPA are arranging free buses from York station to the exhibition so why not zip up to York this weekend by train and leave your car at home. Hopefully see you there…

Teapot

This Teapot is decorated with green copper slip and raw glazed with a lead bisilicate glaze. It’s important when using copper slip with lead to only use it on the outer surface of pots to ensure food safety (or in this case tea safety) The inside of this teapot is glazed terracotta.

Sadly with Covid 19 forcing us to stay inside I’m not having as much fun in the sun as I’d like to. The bright side is that I work from home anyway so can fill my time making pots. Summer is the perfect time for making pots. The heat allows the clay to dry faster…
